Current Students

All current Penn State students have accounts in Nittany Lion Careers. Access your account at nittanylioncareers.psu.edu and you will be redirected to authenticate through Penn State’s Web Access portal.

Alumni

Penn State alumni also have access to Nittany Lion Careers using the “Alumni Job Seekers” login. Most alumni will need to create new accounts, which will be reviewed by Alumni Career Services prior to approval. Some alumni accounts were migrated from the previous system, Nittany Lion Career Network.

If you were actively seeking jobs in Nittany Lion Career Network within the last year, you should already have an active account in Nittany Lion Careers. However, you will need to select “forgot password” on the login page to access your account, since passwords were not migrated along with the rest of the user data.

Setting Up Your Account

Upon first login, all users must:

• Update their user data
• Upload application documents (résumé, cover letter, etc.)
• Agree to the system use policy before they are able to search for job

To apply to a position in Nittany Lion Careers, you must have at least one active résumé available in the system. To upload a job search document, go to Documents > Pending on the left menu.

 

Select Add New to browse for your document and upload.

You will be asked to name your document and choose document type before uploading. Be sure to choose a document name that sounds professional, since employers can see the name you have chosen.

To request a career counseling appointment, please contact Alumni Career Services by either calling 814-865-5465 or emailing alumnicareer@psu.edu.

All uploaded job search documents will need to be reviewed by career staff before you can use them to apply to positions. Once one type of document (résumé, cover letter, transcript, etc.) is reviewed, all future documents of the same type will be automatically available for use.

Starting on August 1, 2018, individual college and campus career offices will be able to set specific document approval guidelines. Users will be notified when these changes are enacted.

Once your account and job search document(s) are approved, you can start searching for jobs. Select Jobs > Jobs from the left menu.

To see opportunities that meet career goals, all users should save a default Advanced Search criteria from this page.

Be sure to select More Filters before developing an advanced search so that major can be selected.

At a minimum, select your major(s) and position type(s) of interest and save your search for future use. Nittany Lion Careers will cache your search criteria between uses so that you don’t need to run the search each time you access the system.

As the university migrates to Nittany Lion Careers, campus and college career offices will begin to use the system to share all career engagement activities with students and alumni.  Choose Events from the left menu to access career fairs, information sessions, workshops, and other employer engagement activities. Users can RSVP for events and add events to personal calendars.

While Nittany Lion Careers serves as a single access point for users to find job opportunities and career engagement activities, students and alumni should continue to access resources provided by their campus or college career services units.
